Alex, I’ll Take Recycling for $200

Recycling has been working its way into being a buzz word for the last two generations, but I want you to know that cats have been recycling for thousands of years. Nothing on the planet can recycle loose pelt hair into hair balls faster than a feline!

Coming in at a close second to me in the area of recycling, I’d like to take a moment and congratulate the staff at Day Heating for earning the Marion County Earthwise certification. The requirements for certification are numerous and can be quite challenging to meet. Over a two year period, Day Heating developed recycling processes for paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, PVC, Styrofoam, refrigerant, mercury and all the various metals from old equipment and our installation processes. As a result of their efforts, it’s entirely possible that someday your old furnace may pass you on the freeway (reborn through the recycling process as part of a car).

Very few companies take the time to minimize their impact on the environment, and even fewer achieve the Earthwise certification. I’m very proud of Day Heating, and while they didn’t recognize my contribution to the recycling efforts, I’m still going to continue to do my part.
